Kerry Ann Mendez teaches the art of low-maintenance perennial gardening and landscaping, focusing on workhorse plant materials and organic practices. Her work has been featured in Horticulture,Fine Gardening, Garden Gate and Better Homes and Gardens' Garden Ideas & Outdoor Living as well as in several gardening books. She has appeared on HGTV and Channel 13, in addition to hosting Capital News 9’s “In The Garden” TV segments. Her recent Horticulture national webinar series attracted thousands of gardeners from around the country.

The Main (Ives) branch of the New Haven Free Public Library system is located at 133 Elm St., across from the New Haven Green, corner of Elm and Temple. Yale Lot #51 on Temple Street (across the street from the library) opens to the public at 4pm, and there are 2-hour parking meters on streets surrounding the library.
